Theatre – Haboob

This quirky, surreal and straight out kind of crazy play is directed by one of La Phoenikera’s great culture and theatre pusher Xanthia Walker and it’s by ASU playwright Marvin González de Leon.

When Vago’s absent father sends him on a quest to find his inheritance buried in the desert along the U.S./Mexico border, he hopes to find financial stability and leave his failures behind. But his mother and his ex-girlfriend feel they deserve the inheritance and follow after him into a haboob. From strange encounters with a drunken gravedigger to getting advice from a talking skeleton, anything is possible in this work of a magical realism.
